On 1 October 2026, the accrued pension entitlements of some 400 employees of electrical wholesaler Rexel Nederland will be transferred from Pensioenfonds Sagittarius to Pensioenfonds PGB. This involves approximately 33 million euros in pension assets. These Rexel employees have been accruing their new pension with Pensioenfonds PGB since 1 January 2026.
Both De Nederlandsche Bank and the accountability body of Pensioenfonds Sagittarius approved the transfer. As a result, the accrued pension entitlements can now be transferred to Pensioenfonds PGB.
The transfer applies only to those employees who chose to take part. Around 1,200 former employees and nearly 1,700 pensioners will remain with Pensioenfonds Sagittarius.
Hans Veltkamp, chairman of the board at Pensioenfonds PGB, is pleased that the pensions previously accrued by Rexel employees are being transferred: ‘It is the ambition of Pensioenfonds PGB to continue growing even after the transition to the new pension scheme.’ ‘This offers stability and economies of scale, and is ultimately in the interests of all our current and future participants.’
Pensioenfonds PGB intends to switch to the new pension scheme with effect from 1 January 2027. From this date, the new scheme will provide both solidarity-based and flexible contribution schemes. There is also room for pension funds that do not wish to continue operating independently and do not wish to convert their existing pension schemes.
