2026: working towards the new pension

2026 is all about preparing for the new pension. We expect to switch to the new pension on 1 January 2027. That is why you will be hearing from us regularly this year. Our aim is to make sure that this is done carefully and as fairly as possible. To achieve this, we still have a number of important steps to take.

Systems ready for the new pension

We are preparing our systems. That's quite a job. Pensioenfonds PGB arranges pensions for many different sectors and many participating companies. To this end, social partners in those sectors and companies have made agreements for the new pension system. For (former) employees and pensioners. There are more than 400 different agreements. We process all these different agreements in our systems.

Plan for De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB)

We are also preparing an implementation plan for DNB. It describes how we arrange the transition and how we make sure that this is done carefully and in a balanced manner. Balanced means that it is as fair as possible, without big disadvantages for certain groups of people. DNB will assess this plan. If it says the plan is in order, we can switch to the new pension.

You will receive information about your new pension

In 2026, we will send you three personal messages about your new pension:

  • Spring: information about what has been agreed on regarding your new pension.
  • Summer: an example of what the new pension means for you.
  • Autumn: an initial estimate of your personal amounts.

In 2027, you will receive an overview of the amounts that will apply to your pension from then on. We also keep you informed via the newsletter and the website.

On track for 1 January 2027

The transition to the new pension is a huge operation and we are working hard on it. Our aim is to make sure that the switch is done carefully and as fairly as possible. We are on track to switch to the new pension on 1 January 2027.
