Accountability

Welcome to the page of the Accountability Body
The Accountability Body represents the interests of several employers who are affiliated to Pensioenfonds PGB; and, naturally, all the participants: employees, ex-employees (‘deferred participants’) and pensioners. On these pages, you can read what the Accountability Body is and what the members of this body do.

- Commissie financiën en balansbeheer (the Finance and Balance Sheet Management Committee).

What do we do?
The Board of Pensioenfonds PGB is accountable to us for the policy implemented. We regularly discuss topical subjects with the Board as well as policies that are being prepared. The Board can then assess how we, as representatives of the parties concerned, think about these issues. Our opinion in respect of the policy implemented is published in the pension fund’s annual report.

As the Accountability Body, we like to consider the future. Consequently, we discuss future developments with the Board.

Here you can refer to our brochure (in Dutch only).

Advice
We have the right to give advice about a number of subjects. For example, the level of the pension contributions and the affiliation of new employers. We have regular consultations with both the Board and the Supervisory Board. Naturally, it is not the intention that we sit on the Boards, but we like to think about the main issues alongside them.

Contacts with the participants and employers
We deem it important to know what things are going on among the participants and employers. To find out, we attend meetings of sector committees, the Employer’s Board and the Association of Pensioners. We also want to form (digital) communities of interested parties. In this way, we acquire information and can say what we are working on.

Important topics for the Accountability Body in 2021
  • This year, as the Accountability Body, we are spending a lot of time making sure we are familiar with and understand the new pension system. We do this with both the Board and the Supervisory Board. If from 2022, the Board makes proposals about how the new scheme is to be implemented, it is our job to assess these. We then check whether the different groups in the new pension scheme can make a good relaunch and acquire an honest share in the pension assets.

  • This year, the  Accountability Body will do everything to ensure it makes more contact with those it represents. We wish to tell those we represent more about what we do. However, we would also like to hear about the wishes and requirements of young and old employees, pensioners, deferred participants and large and small employers. We also intend to promote ourselves more, so that there is more interest in filling the places that come free in the Accountability Body.
